The riches from the rags-to-riches story of Motown’s No. 1 female singing sensations, the Supremes, will be featured during an upcoming exhibit in Seattle.
“Reflections: The Mary Wilson Supreme Legacy Collection” is an exhibit at Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum that will feature more than 50 of the group’s costumes and other memorabilia.
Visitors to the exhibit will see how the Supremes’ style changed from the time 46 years ago when they first emerged from the Detroit housing projects, to what they wore at their last appearance in 1977.
Highlights of the exhibit were detailed in a written press release and range from a set of black velvet Bob Mackie gowns worn during a television special in 1969, to one of Wilson’s maternity outfits.
The exhibit will also include a Supremes’ soundtrack and will screen performances from 1964 to 1970 when the Supremes appeared on the Ed Sullivan show.
