The 2008 Everett Home and Garden Show

What: The Everett Home and Garden Show, Snohomish County’s largest and longest-running home and remodeling extravaganza, opens Friday at Comcast Arena at Everett Events Center.

This year’s three-day show will feature more than 350 booths covering a wide range of interior design, home improvement, new construction and landscaping topics with an emphasis on local vendors, such as Coast Cabins and Sheds of Marysville, which sells simple structures for many backyard uses, and Wild Song Nursery of Silvana, specializing in shade and woodland plants.

Many other exhibitors will offer home products and services, including Swedish Sleep Products of Lake Stevens and HomeMilkMan.com of Everett.

Home: Special home displays will address trends in outdoor furniture, feng shui, faux painting and solar energy, and there will be a live demonstration of home mural painting.

Gardening: Featured gardening elements of the show include a large display garden with water features, hardscaping and plants by the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals.

Hidden Springs Landscape and Design of Stanwood will present a water feature exhibit, while numerous specialty nurseries will offer rare and interesting plants for sale.

Where: Everett Events Center, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett

Hours: Noon to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission: Tickets, sold at the door, are $7 for adults and $6.50 for seniors. Children 16 and younger can attend for free.
