THEATER
Everett’s Got Talent: The Historic Everett Theatre is hosting a talent contest for which video auditions must be submitted by May 21 to enter. The three categories are: 9 to 17 years old, 18 to 29 years old and 30 and older. Fans and judges will choose the top 40-50 contestants for a live contest Aug. 21 and 22 at the 118-year-old theater, 2911 Colby Ave, Everett. The winner from each age category will receive a $500 cash prize, with the overall winner receiving $1,000, as well as a front of the line passes for “America’s Got Talent,” “The Voice,” “American Idol” and/or NBC’s “Little Big Shots.” Go to www.yourhistoriceveretttheatre.org for more information.
DANCE
Catapult: The dance company that specializes in shadow illusion, best known for their time on the hit show “America’s Got Talent,” performs at noon and 7:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Dancers working behind a screen to create shadow silhouettes of shapes from the world around us. Watch their bodies transform into a mountain, an elephant, a dragon and even a helicopter, and travel the world from Paris to Beijing in less than 10 minutes. Tickets are $10. Call 425-275-9595.
Bodytraffic: “The company of the future,” Bodytraffic is a world-class contemporary dance company. The company will perform Micaela Taylor’s “Snap” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. “Snap” was inspired by the ethnically diverse, yet isolating crowds of LA. It urges audiences to “snap out of” social pressures to conform and connect with their individuality as well as with people around them. Tickets are $24-$49. More at www.edmondscenterforthearts.org.
COMEDY
“Stream of Consciousness:” “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” veterans Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood will deliver their indelible humor in a livestream improv show via Zoom. Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett presents “Stream of Consciousness” at 5 p.m. May 15, May 22 and June 5. Tickets are $35. Number of passes are limited. Chad Prather: The comedian, armchair philosopher, musician and observational humorist will perform 8 p.m. June 11 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.
