As if you needed a reason to head over to Whidbey Island in the summer, the annual artists studio tour should provide one.
The free, self-guided tour gives visitors a sneak peak inside the sanctuaries and studios of these island artists to see where all the magic — and skill — happen.
Questions are welcome and many of the artists will work on pieces during the tour.
Studios are scattered islandwide from Oak Harbor to Greenbank.
The tour will be marked by yellow “Studio Tour” road signs to help you locate each one.
The Whidbey Working Artists Summer Art Studio Tour is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is free. For complete information about the tour and artists along with a printable PDF map and brochure, visit www.whidbeyworkingartists.com.
While you are on Whidbey Island, visit the Artists of South Whidbey Annual Show and Sale in Langley.
Thirty ASW artists are exhibiting works during this 36th annual sale, with lots of affordable original oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, colored pencil pieces and other media.
Artists of South Whidbey Show and Sale kicks off with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at the fine arts building at the Island County Fairgrounds, 819 Camano Ave., Langley.
The show is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
