Tractors, lots more in Monroe

Tractor pulls, tractor parades and chances for all ages to drive various kinds of tractors are just part of the fun planned for the Sky Valley Stock and Antique Tractor Club’s 22nd annual antique tractor show, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Sunday at Frohning Farm, 19524 Tualco Loop Road, Monroe.

Kids also can take part in a “shoe scramble,” which involves throwing their shoes into a pile and being the first one to retrieve their right shoe, then spend time visiting the on-site petting farm.

Other events for the family to enjoy will be farm machinery displays and a threshing bee.

Organizers say while people of all ages are welcome, pets are not.

Show admission is $5 per person; free for those under age 12. Ages 62 and older will be admitted free Friday. The event also includes a daily pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m., which costs $5 per person.

A barbecue will follow the daily breakfast and will last through each afternoon. Costs are $1 per drink, and $3 to $8 per food item. The barbecue will feature pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob and desserts.
