The popular Model Railroad Show is chugging its way into the Pacific Science Center for its 37th year with lots of scenic layouts and the chance for your kids to take a ride on the Iron Horse Railway under the science center’s arches.
There are displays and train related activities such as storytelling along with exhibits that include modular and sectional layouts in many scales, from “Z” to “G.”
The Model Railroad Show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday through Monday at the Pacific Science Center, 200 Second Ave. N, Seattle.
Admission is $14 for adults; $9 for youth 6 to 15; $7 for kids 3 to 5 and $12 for seniors 65 and over. Children under 3 are free. For more information 206-443-2001 or go to www.pacsci.org.
And speaking of popular exhibits, Pacific Science Center’s “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” is so popular that its West Coast premier is being extended two weeks. It will be open through Feb. 13.
Visitors to “Harry Potter” will see more than 200 costumes and props from the films, get to toss a Quaffle or encounter Buckbeak the Hippogriff.
A separate timed-entry ticket is required for this exhibit. Prices range from $13 for kids to $26 for adults. Purchase tickets online or call 800-664-8775.
