Two of the world’s most famous operas will be performed in the coming months by the Skagit Opera in Mount Vernon, with tickets on sale now.
First up is “Pagliacci,” the famed tale of backstage betrayal among a traveling comedy troupe. The opera, written in 1892, was the first to produce a million-selling hit, after Enrico Caruso recorded its signature aria, “Vesti La Guibba.”
Performances are scheduled for Sept. 21, 23, 28 and 30.
Then, the opera will produce “Lucia di Lammermoor,” which sits at No. 19 on the list of 100 most frequently performed operas. The show is based on an epic Scottish romance written by Sir Walter Scott.
Performances are scheduled for Feb. 8, 10, 15 and 17.
Tickets for both shows range in price from $15 to $59. Additionally, seats are available for a pre-performance gala or a closing celebration for $75. To purchase, go to mcintyrehall.org or call 360-416-7727.
