Everyone’s a viking during the Nordic Heritage Museum’s annual Viking Days festival.

During this weekend’s 26th anniversary, the museum celebrates all that’s Nordic, including Scandinavian entertainment, food, and arts and crafts.

The museum’s Taste of Scandinavia will represent each of the five Nordic countries, featuring edibles such as Swedish meatballs, Norwegian lefse, Danish aebleskiver and a variety of Finnish and Icelandic goodies.

There are also the traditional Swedish pancake breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday and a salmon barbecue dinner on Saturday only.

The celebration includes actual live Vikings. The Ravenstead Vikings will be on hand all weekend, clad in their authentic costumes. Visitors are welcome to see Viking life in their small encampment with weaving, spinning, woodcarving and cooking demonstrations and Viking battles.

Traditional folk music and dancing will be performed both days on multiple stages, including Nordic dance music from TinnFelen, as well as Corky Dragland playing the accordion. Sammamish Sublimation will also perform.

On Saturday, Living Voices will present two programs that combine video and an interactive performer.

Viking Days kicks off with the Swedish pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Sunday at the Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th St., Seattle. Tickets are $6 to $10.

The salmon barbecue will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 to $15.

Viking Days events and the museum admission are free both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 206-789-5707, or go to www.nordicmuseum.org.
