The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.
All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now.
If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.
We have received over 20 fancy gerbils and they are all looking for new homes! They ranges in age from 5 months to 1 year and there are both male and females. Their coloring is Burmese and also grey and white and they are fairly large for gerbils. If you are looking for a new little friend come on down to see them. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Meet Jive! He was born in our care along with his brother Tap. Now that these guys are big enough to be away from their mom they are ready for their forever home! Jive is a bit more spunky – but tolerates being handled. He likes to hide under the litter boxes but will warm up after time. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Max is a very sweet dog with a sordid past. Due to some instability in his life he has some unwanted behaviors. We are looking for the perfect home for him that will take the time to work with him and encourage him. Max knows many commands such as Sit, Stay, Heel, Gentle and Leave It. We are told he plays well with other dogs, but prefers to be an only dog in the household. He has been an outdoor only dog, so will need some training as he becomes a part of your family. He is anxious when left alone on his own. Max has food/possession aggression issues so no children. He will need to be left alone while eating. Max will need someone to work on his weight issues with regular exercise and diet. Come down and read about this guy! (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
Meet Ravioli! This bunny came to us as a stray so we don’t have much history on him. While he has been with us he has really enjoyed munching on his fresh veggies and hay. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Sandy is a large active girl looking for a home with plenty of daily activities. She has lived with another large breed dog but will need a meet and greet with any resident canines. Sandy cannot be around small critters including small dogs and cats. She knows several commands and has lived with children. (Curt Story/Everett Animal Shelter)
