GOLD BAR — A brush fire near Wallace Falls State Park was contained Wednesday afternoon to about two acres.
A man in town spotted the fire on the hill around 3:20 p.m., Gold Bar Fire Chief Eric Andrews said.
The flames were burning in a heavily wooded area and at first threatened homes. The firefighting was expected to take much of the evening.
The state Department of Natural Resources sent a couple of engines. A burn ban remains in place for all of Snohomish County. People have been asked to not use charcoal barbecues, fire pits, fire places, campfires and bonfires.
