EDMONDS — Firefighters responded to a large two-story house that went up in flames Christmas night.
The fire in the 6900 block of Fisher Road, north of Edmonds, was called in a little before 7 p.m. No injuries were reported, and there was no concern of exposure to neighboring homes, said South County Fire spokesperson Leslie Hynes. She said the blaze was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire due to the difficulty of getting water to the house.
Investigation of what caused the fire won’t happen until after the fire is knocked down. That was expected to take a while.
“It’s probably going to take them all night,” Hynes said.
The house, which is nearly 14,000 square feet, reportedly has been vacant for years. County records show the house last sold in 2004 for $2.3 million.
Roads in the area were closed off Wednesday night.
