3 Island County positions still open

COUPEVILLE – No one has filed for nine posts in Island County, even after a special three-day filing period this week.

Three spots are still open on both the North Whidbey and Long Beach water districts. No one filed in the Bayview Beach Water District, but Terry Otey is the incumbent. Dale Boose is the incumbent in the Saratoga Water District, and Corey Lee Johnson in the Swanton Water District.

If no one files, incumbents retain the seat. If the incumbent resigns, a new member is appointed.

Filing Wednesday through Friday were: incumbent James Adsley at the South Whidbey School District; incumbent Vernon “Nick” Bacher at Bayview Beach Water; Joe Biller at Crockett Lake Water; incumbent Nolan “Rocky” Knickerbocker at Freeland Water; and incumbent Carol Thrailkill at Rhodena Beach Water.
