FORKS — A Washington Ecology Department spokeswoman says more than 3,500 gallons of fuel spilled when a fuel tanker truck overturned on U.S. Highway 101 about 25 miles south of Forks.
Kim Schmanke says crews righted the damaged trailer late Wednesday afternoon.
The State Patrol says the truck driver wasn’t injured in the Wednesday morning crash.
Schmanke says response agencies and cleanup contractors are working to recover the spilled fuel and assess environmental impacts.
The crash closed one lane of the highway. Flaggers are directing motorists through the area, using the southbound lane for alternating traffic.
