ARLINGTON — Every Christmas season for more than a decade, Arlington firefighters have decorated their fire trucks with lights and driven through town with Santa, collecting food and money for charity.
Both paid and volunteer members of the Arlington Fire Department participate. Some businesses and residents also help with the event.
When they stop in neighborhoods, kids and adults run from their homes with cans of food and checks for charity.
Traditionally, they visited every community, but as Arlington has grown through annexations and new developments, they’ve had to skip some neighborhoods.
This year, they donated the food and money they collected to the Arlington Community Food Bank.
