Lake Stevens: City Council to discuss sidewalks

The Lake Stevens City Council is scheduled tonight to discuss its study of a possible new sidewalk on Lakeview Drive.

The workshop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd St. NE.

The city is considering several locations to begin building sidewalks with $500,000 in savings from having library service removed from the city budget.

City taxpayers agreed last year to pay a tax directly to the Sno-Isle Library District to run the Lake Stevens Library. Afterward, many people in the city told officials they’d like to see the money go toward sidewalks.

Other streets where the city could begin building sidewalks are 22nd Street NE and 123rd Avenue NE.
