EUGENE, Ore. — Police in Oregon say a baby was found in a shopping cart outside Toys R Us.
The Register-Guard reports that police and firefighters were called about the abandoned baby on Sunday evening.
Eugene Springfield Fire Training Battalion Chief Matt Ennis says the issue became a police matter after firefighters determined the baby did not need medical attention.
Eugene police spokesman John Hankemeier would only say that the case involves a child and was forwarded to the state Department of Human Services.
