STANWOOD — The Stanwood-Camano School District on Tuesday unanimously approved a contract with Deborah Rumbaugh to be the district’s next superintendent.
Rumbaugh, who will begin July 1, will be paid a base salary of $250,000 a year under the agreement. It is a three-year deal with a potential for pay raises in the second and third years in line with any wage increases funded by the Legislature. Also, her compensation could be revised in the event of a levy failure.
The proposed contract is almost identical to the pact with Superintendent Jean Shumate, who will retire at the end of the month after 20 years at the helm of the district. Shumate is making $263,124 in her final year.
