YAKIMA — The Yakima County sheriff’s office says a body has been found in a pickup truck in a canal.
Sgt. Mike Russell said the condition of the vehicle found Tuesday indicates it likely had been in the water for months but was just exposed with the lowering of the water level.
The body has been turned over to the county coroner’s office and an autopsy is pending. Russell says there is no preliminary indication of foul play.
The sergeant says the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado was last known to be in the possession of a 33-year-old man who was reported missing to Sunnyside police last April.
