SEATTLE — Divers recovered the body Sunday of a 20-year-old Algona man who jumped from a bridge into Lake Tapps the night before.
Pierce County Sheriffs spokesman Ed Troyer says the body of Charley Sing was found in 35 feet of water, about 40 feet from the overpass bridge.
Sing was in a car with friends Saturday evening when they stopped at the Sumner Tapps Highway bridge. Troyer says detectives believe they made the 20- to 25-foot dive into the water. Sing reportedly disappeared after struggling.
A sign at the bridge warns against jumping.
