This is going to be the kind of music that sometimes sounds like fingernails against blackboards, or has scary crescendos that make you think something bad is going to happen, and will impart a little music from the movie “Jaws.”
Cool.
That’s the reaction assistant conductor Ron Friesen and other members of the Everett Symphony hope to evoke when they present “Explore Music! Children’s Concert Boo!” to audiences on Friday.
The goal is to introduce music that will excite the senses.
Children will learn how music can evoke all kinds of emotion. Fear, anticipation, suspense and many more sensations will be portrayed through the magic of music.
The concert selections include, “Danse Macabre,” “Night on Bald Mountain” and many more. Cliff Lenz will narrate.
The program is specifically aimed at fourth- and fifth-graders who are deciding what instrument to learn, but the concert is open to all ages.
“Boo!”
