ELECTION 2016: RESULTS • STORIES • DATA DASHBOARD
BOTHELL — It looks as if fireworks may be on the way out.
Ballots counted Wednesday showed voters 51.5 percent in Snohomish County and 53.4 percent in King County in favor of an advisory measure that recommends a prohibition of the possession, sale and use of consumer fireworks. The city straddles the two counties.
The measure is non-binding, meaning any ban will not be enacted solely on the voting results. Instead, the vote results will be used to gauge the public’s opinion and aid future discussions among city council members.
As of now, consumer fireworks are only allowed to be discharged July 4 in Bothell.
