EVERETT — A Cascade High School student was taken by ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett on Friday after an injury at a swim team practice, officials said.
The boy is a junior and a diver on the swim team, Everett School District spokeswoman Mary Waggoner said.
The incident occurred at the Forest Park pool.
“I was told he didn’t hit the board,” Waggoner said. “They are not sure quite what happened.”
The swim coach was with the student Friday evening, she said.
Everett medics received a 911 call around 3:45 p.m., city spokeswoman Kate Reardon said.
The report came in as a teenager complaining of back pain, she said.
He was taken by a private ambulance to the hospital.
