Community Extra: Milestones



Margaret “Marge” McBride plans to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends on Sunday at Sockeye’s Restaurant in Monroe.

She lives with her husband, Bob, in Mukilteo.

McBride was born in Quilcene and graduated as a four-letter athlete from the old Redmond High School. She came to Mukilteo in the late 1960s from Ballard.

She is an avid gardener, a fan of Seattle Mariners baseball, and loves music and dancing.

For years, she was active in the Mukilteo Presbyterian Church and has traveled extensively including riding camels in Egypt and helping missionaries in Mexico.

She has two sons, one stepson, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.


Bell and Braaten

Glenn Bell and Stacia Braaten of Seattle were married on July 24 in Leavenworth.

Parents of the bride are Lowell and Kathy Braaten of Snohomish. Parents of the groom are John and Marjorie Bell of New Hope, Pa.

The couple honeymooned on the East Coast.

Glenn is a Seattle firefighter and Stacia is a middle school teacher in West Seattle.
