County GOP women host former candidate

EVERETT — Former congressional candidate James Watkins is the scheduled guest speaker at Thursday’s meeting of the Snohomish County Republican Women’s Club.

Watkins, a Kirkland business consultant, ran unsuccessfully in 2010 against U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee for Washington’s 1st Congressional District. In January, Watkins opted not to run for the redrawn 1st District to clear the field for fellow Republican John Koster, a Snohomish County councilman from Arlington.

Thursday’s meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Shawn O’Donnell’s Restaurant, 122 128th St. SE, Everett. RSVP at 360-658-0479.
