EVERETT — Snohomish County Fire District 1 crews were working to put out a fire at a day care Sunday night.
A call came in about 9:15 p.m. about the fire near the 2800 block of 86th St. SE, said Leslie Hynes, spokeswoman for Snohomish Fire District 1.
When crews arrived on the scene, the rambler with a daylight basement was fully engulfed by flames, Hynes said. A gas line also had ruptured and was adding fuel to the flames, she added.
“It’s under control but it is still burning,” Hynes said.
No one was believed to be inside the Red Apple Preschool-Childcare at the time the fire started. The loss from the fire is estimated to be around $450,000, Hynes said.
Crews from Snohomish County District 7 and Mukilteo were working with District 1 to extinguish the fire.
