Crime watch

Here’s a roundup of some of the more interesting recent neighborhood crime news from Everett, provided by police:

Everett

* 1600 block of SE Everett Mall Way, June 1. Police cited a man for shoplifting a watermelon from a bin outside of TOP Foods after employees saw the man, 43, pick up the melon and walk away. The watermelon was valued at $3.68.

* 100 Block of West Casino Road, June 1. Police arrested a Marysville woman who was seen smoking crack cocaine outside an apartment building. The off-white substance tested positive for cocaine, police said. It and a pipe were seized and the woman, 40, was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

* 3100 block of Norton Avenue, June 2. Stereo equipment was reported stolen from three cars. An envelope with personal papers also was reported stolen and later discovered by an officer in some bushes. The loss was estimated at $350.

* 3100 block of Rockefeller Avenue, June 2. Survey equipment was reported stolen from a construction company trailer. The lock on the trailer door had been cut and left on the ground. The equipment was valued at $8,000 to $10,000.

* 2500 block of 61st Street SE, June 3. Two guns and a snowboard were reported stolen from a storage locker. The items were valued at $500.

* 900 block of E. Marine View Drive, June 3. A Marysville man told police he was assaulted by three men while he was walking to his parents’ home after his car broke down. The man told police the suspects stole $185 and two credit cards from his wallet. The victim said he was able to keep the suspects from taking his wedding ring.

* 11000 block of 19th Avenue SE, June 4. Police arrested a 72-year-old Lynnwood man for warrants after finding him asleep inside his car at a Safeway parking lot.

* 800 block of E. Mukilteo Boulevard, June 4. Computer equipment was reported stolen from a car at Forest Park. The suspect broke the rear driver’s side rear window. The loss was estimated at $3,850.

* 3700 block of Hoyt Avenue, June 5. A woman reported that someone threw a rock at her car, breaking the rear window. A backpack, taken from the car, was found about 50 feet away. Nothing else was taken. The damage was estimated at $400.

* 600 block of 112th Street SE, June 5. Police arrested a 34-year-old Seattle man after he was allegedly found in a stolen car in the Lago de Plata mobile home park. The man also had an outstanding warrant for bank fraud.

* 400 block of 85th Place SW, June 5. A woman told police someone came into her apartment while she was asleep and stole $127. The woman, 61, awoke just as the suspect was leaving the apartment.

* 7600 block of Evergreen Way, June 6. A Safeway employee told police he was assaulted by a man who shoplifted a bottle of wine and sunglasses from the store. The employee tired to bring the suspect back into the store when he was assaulted.

* 2600 block of Walnut Avenue, June 8. A gas station clerk reported that a man pumped $15 worth of gas and drove off without paying. The clerk was able to get a partial license plate number. Police determined that the license plate belonged to a 2002 Dodge Durango that had been stolen. It was found behind a building in the 8700 block of Eighth Avenue W.
