SEATTLE — The King County Sheriff’s Office says a man shot two people, including his former mother-in-law, before committing suicide.
The Seattle Times reported that both victims were in critical condition.
It began Saturday afternoon when 48-year-old John L. McKay shot one man and pistol-whipped two other people at his ex-wife’s home in Renton. Sgt. Cindi West says McKay then drove to his former mother-in-law’s home near Issaquah, kicked in the door, chased her into the backyard and shot her.
West said her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
McKay’s car was found Saturday night in the Skyway area, and he was dead inside of what appeared to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He had a history of domestic violence.
