Drive-by shooting suspects arrested

A teenager and two adults have been arrested in connection with several recent drive-by shootings.

"The houses that were hit, the occupants are so lucky to be alive," said Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen. "We are very pleased that we received a tip and we were able to move forward on this case and make the arrests."

A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested Tuesday night, she said. A 39-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday.

Detectives believe the three were involved in several shootings — none of which caused injuries — but Jorgensen said each person’s involvement and which homes were struck are under investigation.

According to court documents, houses were hit Nov. 3 in the 16000 block of Connelly Road in Snohomish, the 1900 block of Douglas Avenue in Everett, and the 1900 block of 51st Avenue SE in Everett, where a 90-year-old woman was nearly struck by a bullet.

A resident in the 15000 block of High Bridge Road in Monroe also found shell casings in his driveway and a deer shot to death on his property.

The sheriff’s office is investigating seven similar drive-by shootings, according to court documents.

Jorgensen would not say if the suspects were connected to a recent string of drive-by shootings along Lowell-Larimer Road in Snohomish.

The 18-year-old is linked with at least four drive-by shootings, she said. He was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of three shootings that happened on Nov. 3. He posted $30,000 in bail and was released. He was then arrested Wednesday afternoon on a fourth count, Jorgensen said.

The 17-year-old is being held on $11,000 bail at the Denney Juvenile Justice Center.

According to court documents, the 18-year-old confessed to his brother that he was involved in three drive-by shootings.

Upon arresting the 18-year-old man, police found a receipt for two guns purchased at a Bellevue gun shop on Nov. 3. Police also recovered two rifles from a car, according to court documents.

The woman told detectives she had been with the man when he bought a gun and was driving when he fired a gun out the window, court papers said.
