EDMONDS — Police believe a driver involved in two crashes Wednesday evening was drunk or on drugs.
A 40-year-old Edmonds man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with multiple injuries following the second collision, Edmonds police reported.
No one else was injured in either of the collisions. The investigation is continuing with multiple charges pending, Edmonds Police Sgt. Mark Marsh said.
Edmonds Police were first called to a two-car collision about 7 p.m. near the intersection of 210th Street SW and 74th Avenue W. Before officers arrived, one of the involved vehicles fled the scene.
One officer recognized witnesses’ description of the driver’s vehicle as belonging to a man police had contacted before.
As the officers investigated, another call came in about a car matching the description of the one that fled being driven recklessly near the intersection of 198th Street SW and 80th Avenue W. The car crashed into a yard and rolled over.
No further details were available. The investigation is continuing.
