EVERETT — Two people were injured in a suspected impaired driving car crash Tuesday night on northbound I-5 near Highway 526 in Everett.
The driver, a 40-year-old Marysville woman, and passenger, a 51-year-old Edgewood man, were in a 1988 Ford Taurus. The driver allegedly was speeding, lost control, crossed the width of the interstate, hit a barrier on the left side, rolled and stopped in the carpool lane at 7:35 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.
The passenger wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, according to the state patrol.
Both people were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Alcohol or drugs were suspected to be involved in the collision, according to the state patrol. The cause was under investigation.
