WOODWAY — A 38-year-old truck driver was seriously injured Monday about 3 p.m. when he was struck by his dump truck near Algonquin Road and Woodway Park Road.
The man, whose name has not been released, suffered internal injuries and two broken legs. He was airlifted by medics to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver was apparently disconnecting the trailer from the dump truck, when the truck rolled forward. He was run over when he attempted to stop the truck, Edmonds police reported. The truck stopped without hitting any structures.
Edmonds police and a Shoreline fire engine company assisted the Edmonds Fire Department in setting up a landing zone for the airlift helicopter at the City Park on Third Avenue S. The man was listed in serious condition Monday night.
