EVERETT — It’s time to be rid of old electronics, mattresses, microwaves, tires and more during a recycling event Saturday, April 1.
Many of the accepted items can be dropped off for free from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Everett Station Lot B, 3201 Smith Ave. The city is charging for appliances, porcelain sinks and toilets, box springs and mattresses, propane tanks, air conditioners, freezers, refrigerators and tires.
The event is cash only and exact change is required, with fees varying depending on the item.
Free recycling is available for document shredding until the truck fills and some wood and small electronics, but not monitors or TVs.
The event is projected to divert 35 tons from landfills.
