Everett Community College plans to be closed Friday and move to summer hours starting Monday.
The college will be open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Fridays from this week through Sept. 24.
Last year, the college saved about $25,000 in utility costs by switching to a four-day week and hopes to see those savings again this summer, said Jennifer Howard, EvCC vice president of Administrative Services.
This is the college’s fourth year of switching to a four-day work week during the summer, with employees working four 10-hour days.
