EVERETT — The Westminster Presbyterian Church is bidding farewell to its young organist by letting him take the stage alone.
Marysville teen Halden Toy is schedule to perform on the pipe organ and harpsichord at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, located 2531 Hoyt Ave.
Entrance is free, but donations are encouraged.
Toy, 18, is leaving his position as organist so he can attend Brigham Young University-Idaho to study organ performance.
He said he has mixed feelings leaving the congregation where he has been playing every Sunday for the past nine months.
“It is a very good congregation, but there is excitement for the new venture and a musical career,” Toy said.
The one-hour show is set to feature religious, classical and baroque music.
Sunday’s concert is part of an ongoing series organized by Westminster. The next is scheduled May 10.
