EVERETT — Everett’s garden arts festival, Sorticulture, which has been running for over 25 years, starts on Friday, kicking off a weekend of flowers, art, food and music. The festival will span eight downtown blocks from Everett Avenue to Pacific Avenue. Over the course of three days, it will host gardening and art classes, live concerts and booths highlighting over 120 nurseries and garden artists.
Admission is free and festival hours will be held 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, with the same operating hours on Saturday. On Sunday, the festival will last from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with gardening expert and TV personality Ciscoe Morris set to join the festivities at 1 p.m. at the Historic Everett Theatre.
Included among the plentiful activities are the Imagine Children’s Museum’s free planter decorating activity Friday through Sunday, linocut and botanical gelli printing classes, and musical performances from native flutist Peter Ali and local singer songwriter Jordan Campbell.
