EVERETT — The cause of a fatal fire at an Everett storage facility on Dec. 24 remains undetermined.
Heavy damage in the area where the fire started prevented investigators from pinpointing an exact cause, Everett Fire Marshal Rick Robinson said.
There was nothing suspicious about how the fire began, he said.
The fire broke out at the storage facility along Smith Avenue about 7 a.m. Matthew J. Paulsene, 31, of Lynnwood, died in the fire.
Everett police detectives also investigated the fire. They are wrapping up their case as well, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said Tuesday.
