GRANITE FALLS — A father and his 9-year-old son may have become lost in the mountains while looking for a Christmas tree off the Mountain Loop Highway.
Searchers checked an area near Green Mountain Thursday evening when the wife of the man, believed to be in his mid-30s, said he had failed to return.
The father and son left at 12:30 p.m. to find their tree and were reported missing at 7:45 p.m. They said only that they were likely to look for it near Green Mountain, said Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen.
The man was driving a red, 1993 Volkswagen Passat, Jorgensen said.
The pair had not been found by 10 p.m. Thursday.
