SNOHOMISH — The FBI on Tuesday released a photograph of a man suspected of robbing Everett Mutual Bank, 1325 Ave. D.

The robbery occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Monday. Although officers responded within seconds and tried to track the robber with police dogs and a helicopter, he got away.

The suspect is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, with a pockmarked face and sunglasses.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Snohomish Police Department at 360-568-0888.

  • Dog in Canada: Yukon, once a Snohomish County sheriff’s dog that cost the department a $412,000 settlement in a widely publicized biting case, has a new home in Canada.

The German shepherd, who had a history of biting too hard, will be a house pet with a Royal Canadian Mounted Police dog handler in northern British Columbia, Snohomish County Sheriff Rick Bart said.

Mincio Donciev — the "mountain man" burglar from Bulgaria who spent 12 years raiding vacation homes in Washington’s Cascade Mountains — lost two toes after being bitten by Yukon in March 1998.

Donciev filed suit against the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Department, claiming Yukon was inadequately trained. The case was settled in February.

Yukon was retired that same month.

Donciev was released in August from the state penitentiary after serving his sentence for burglary and unlawful firearms possession.

  • Victim ID’d: A woman who fell to her death from Wallace Falls Sunday has been identified.

She was Kathryn Ann Gross, 40, of Mill Creek, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Tuesday.
