FEDERAL WAY — A witness heard Federal Way police repeatedly telling a man a man to drop his weapon and get down on the ground before he was shot by two officers.
Police say the bank robbery suspect was shot Thursday night when he threatened to kill the officers.
The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Auburn police, who are investigating the shooting, reported today that the man has died.
The News Tribune of Tacoma reports officers were searching for the suspect when they found him apparently trying to hide.
He reportedly was wanted in an Aug. 24 robbery of a Sterling Savings Bank in Federal Way where a man handed a note to a teller that read “No alarms or else you die.” No one was injured in the robbery.
The uninjured officers have been placed on paid administrative leave.
