LYNNWOOD — Decoy Lynnwood police officers netted nine men on charges of soliciting prostitution during a recent "sting" operation, spokeswoman Trudy Dana said Friday.

Police contacted 14 suspected johns during the past week. Dana said. Nine of them will face charges.

Police used female officers posing as prostitutes in various parts of the city, she said.

"We want to get the word out that picking up prostitutes in Lynnwood is likely to get you arrested," said Sgt. Patrick Fagan of the department’s special operations section. "We plan to continue these stings at a number of locations on as regular basis."
