EVERETT — A man remained in a local hospital’s intensive care unit Thursday after a fist fight outside an Everett coffee shop the day before.
The man, 32, suffered significant injuries in the fight, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. The incident was reported just before 4 p.m. Wednesday near the Firewheel Community Coffeehouse along Colby Avenue downtown. A press release was issued Thursday afternoon.
The man was at the shop and arguing with a 31-year-old woman, Snell said. Detectives on Thursday had not yet sorted out the relationship between the two. The woman’s friend, a 35-year-old man, intervened in the argument and the fight broke out between the two men.
Police arrived to find both men with injuries. They were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The friend was not seriously injured and was released the same day, Snell said.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit are conducting the investigation. They don’t believe any weapons were involved, Snell said. No arrests have been made. No additional information was provided.
