MILL CREEK — Fire inspectors and police are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed five vehicles and damaged one other at Country Club Condominiums about 5:20 a.m. this morning.
The fire engulfed five vehicles parked under a carport and damaged a nearby building. The roof of the carport collapsed, causing additional damage to the vehicles. The total damage was estimated at $80,000.
Residents were temporarily evacuated from the nearby building while firefighters fought the blaze, said Eric Andrews, deputy chief with Snohomish County Fire District 7. No one was injured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but appears to be suspicious, Andrews said.
