MONROE — Six people were left homeless Friday morning after a chimney fire damaged their home.
Firefighters were called to a two-story house in the 16500 block 240th St. SE just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Monroe Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Dickinson said.
Four adults and two children were living in the house. Snohomish County Red Cross volunteers provided the family with food and blankets.
Nobody was hurt. Damage was estimated at about $100,000.
Fire crews stayed at the house until 4 a.m., Dickinson said.
