EVERETT — Crews were working Monday to rescue a fishing boat that ran aground near the mouth of the Snohomish River, Coast Guard officials said.
The New Queen ran aground Sunday about 7 p.m., Coast Guard Petty Officer Jeff Pollinger said. People aboard the boat called the Coast Guard around 4 a.m. Monday, he said.
A contractor was waiting until high tide to try to free the boat Monday while state Department of Ecology and Coast Guard officials stood by, he said. No oil spills or injuries have been reported.
