House fire causes $225k in damage
EVERETT — Five people were displaced Thursday morning after a two-alarm fire south of town. Everyone got out safely.
The fire was reported just before 5 a.m. along 105th Street SW. Crews found flames shooting from the roof, said Leslie Hynes, a spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1.
Damage was estimated at $225,000. Crews also responded from Lynnwood, Everett and Mukilteo.
One of the duplex units was destroyed. The other unit had fire and smoke damage, Hynes said.
The fire apparently started from natural heat that built up in the beauty bark outside the home.
