EVERETT — Eight female political activists from Mongolia will spend Monday getting instruction in U.S.-style campaigning from state and Snohomish County Republican leaders.
The women will gain schooling in several aspects of electioneering, including how to build a campaign organization, raise money and reach voters.
The contingent is part of the Zuunmod city Democratic Women’s Union of Mongolia, according to Frauna Hoglund, president of the Snohomish County Republican Women’s Club and organizer of the event, to be held at Shawn O’Donnell’s Restaurant in Everett.
Scheduled presenters include Jeremy Deutsch, executive director of the Washington State Republican Party, and Judy Needles, president of the Washington Federation of Republican Women.
Also expected are former state lawmaker Renee Radcliff Sinclair, who lost her run for County Council in November, and Jim Donner, who ran Kirke Sievers’ successful campaign for county treasurer this year and was Snohomish County’s Republican of the Year in 2005.
The event is not open to the public.
