Fighting cancer
Firefighters from the Paine Field Fire Department will partner with the Mukilteo Fire Department to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 27, firefighters from both departments will train on stair climbers, some in full bunker gear and tank equipment, while collecting pledges and donations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
This fundraiser is in preparation for the March 7 19th annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb in Seattle. At 788 feet of vertical elevation, the Columbia Center is the second tallest building west of the Mississippi River.

Hike at Stevens Pass: Hike the Lanham Lakes area near Stevens Pass on Feb. 25.
It’s an easy to to medium difficulty snowshoe trip with an elevation gain of 650 feet and a length of 4 to 5 miles.
Join the Over-The-Hill Hikers group with South County Senior Center in Edmonds.
The cost of the trip is $13 for South County Senior Center members and $16 for non members.
