Teddy Bear Breakfast

Providence General Children’s Association’s family friendly Teddy Bear Breakfast is scheduled for 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 at the Tulalip Resort as part of Providence General Foundation’s Festival of Trees. This event benefits the Providence General Children’s Association and supports the health care needs of local children.

The event features children’s entertainer Tim Noah, an opportunity to view decorated trees, a coloring book, raffle and a chance to visit the teddy bear store. Bring your own camera for pictures with Santa.

Reservations are due by Friday. Tickets are $30 each (cash or check) by phone at 425-317-9825 or email at teddybearbreakfast@gmail.com. Or pay with a credit card for an extra fee at squareup.com/store/teddy-bear-breakfast. Patron tickets also available.

Marysville schools to appoint superintendent

Jason Thompson is expected to offically become the superintendent of Marysville schools at a board meeting today. Thompson became the acting superintendent after Becky Berg stepped down in the spring. He’s working under a contract that’s set to expire next June. If all goes as planned he’ll begin a new, three-year contract the next day. The meeting starts at 4:30 p.m.

Apply for the boundary review board

Snohomish County is seeking volunteers for two open positions on the Boundary Review Board.

Candidates must live in the county. Board members serve four-year terms. They are not allowed to hold other elected or appointed government positions or jobs. The board resolves disputes between property owners, residents, developers and governmental authorities. In unincorporated areas, the board is the decision-making body for annexation issues. Go outside to play

The next day to visit Washington State Parks without a Discover Pass is on Autumn Day, Nov. 23. It’s the last free day in 2018. In 2019, the first free day is New Year’s Day.

Local state parks include Cama Beach on Camano Island, Wallace Falls near Gold Bar and Saint Edward near Kenmore.
