Celebrate Seabiscuit
A day of family activities commemorating the 75th annniversary of Seabiscuit’s final race is planned Saturday at All Breed Equine Rez-Q in Marysville. There will be farm tours and pony rides, a raffle, bake sale, games and prizes. The special guest of honor will be Windy Land, the great-great-great-grandson of Seabiscuit. The stallion won the Santa Anita handicap in 1940, coming back from a career-threatening injury. All Breed Equine Rez-Q is at 2415 116th NE, Marysville.
Prom safety events planned: Assemblies are planned Thursday at high schools in Mukilteo and Monroe to promote prom safety. Neighbors might see police cars and fire trucks with lights and sirens headed to campuses. Kamiak High School’s event is mid-morning, with Monroe High School’s event in the afternoon. Both events are organized by police, firefighters and school drama clubs.
