Benefit concert
Several bands are organizing a concert to help pay the medical costs of Sean Keck and raise diabetes awareness Friday at the Jet Bar, 800 164th St. SE, Mill Creek.
Keck is a Everett-based musician who has diabetes and who recently underwent surgery on his foot and Achilles’ heel. Find more information at www.thejetbar.com.
Food talk: Graham Kerr, formerly known as the Galloping Gourmet, plans to speak at 1 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Lutheran Church, 23525 84th Ave. W.
His talk is expected to cover a strategy for 2020 for eating, growing, gathering and sharing more vegetables and fruits, especially those grown locally and in front and back yards.
The church counts as part of its mission food security and stewardship and aims for church and community members to distribute 1 ton of food to local food banks each week.
The public is invited to the talk.
Free low tide beach walks: Join a ranger-naturalist for a one-hour introduction to the intertidal community.
Meet at Olympic Beach Visitor Station in Edmonds. Beach walks are held Saturdays and Sundays from June to August.
